Admission to Students with Visual and Other Impairments
Help the Blind foundation, Hong Kong, extends financial support to the Students with Visual impairments (Blind) pursuing Intermediate, Degree and PG Courses in Andhra Loyola College. A Memorandum of Understanding has been entered into by the Higher Education for Persons with Special Needs (HEPSN) wing of ALC and the Foundation.
Accordingly the Students with Visual impairments, who join the College and opt to stay in the college attached hostels will be provided with financial aid to the extent of Rs 25000/- per annum. Those who study as Day scholars would be provided with Rs 10000 for girls and Rs 5000 for Boys, according to Rev Fr.Dr.G.A.P.Kishore, SJ, Principal. Further, the College promotes the education of the Physically challenged students. The College provides all the necessary support such as Scribe-Volunteers during the examinations, free computer education and training in the usage of software such as NVDA to the blind students. Releasing this information to the Press, the Principal of the College has asked both the Visually and Physically Challenged Students, who are interested in pursuing their College Education at ALC, to benefit from the facilities being provided.
