The department History is established in the year 1954. The department is one of the oldest departments in the college. The department of History is well known for its excellence in teaching. The faculty members of the department are continuously engaged in guiding the UG students. The faculties are constantly working on different duties assigned by the college.
The Graduate Programme in History Department reflects the methodological diversity of the discipline. Faculty members are providing informative lectures along with ample study materials to the students which has helped the department to maintain a consistent record of academic success over the years. The aim of the Department of History is to make the students to understand about Historical phenomena, and to explore their ethical and normative dimensions. Students in the department are encouraged to pursue higher studies to enhance their knowledge and compete in various national and state-level competitive examinations.
