The Chemistry Department at our institution has been a cornerstone of scientific inquiry and education since its inception in 1954. With a dedicated team of 15 members, the department has consistently been at the forefront of pioneering research and academic excellence in chemistry. Its unique interdisciplinary approach sets our Chemistry Department apart, offering specialized programs that integrate mathematics, physics, biology, and microbiology with chemistry.

Our vision is to impart quality education in chemistry, fostering creativity and research orientation among students, while providing a platform to exhibit talents and innovative ideas. Our mission includes enlightening students about the value of rational thinking, equipping them with educational and research opportunities that bridge chemistry and other fields, promoting inventive curriculum development, providing service learning and community-based research opportunities, and acting as mentors to undergraduate students towards active research.

These courses give students the analytical and problem-solving abilities needed to take on challenging scientific problems in various fields and give them a strong foundation in chemistry. The departments research endeavours span multiple areas, including Materials Science, Thermodynamics, Environmental Chemistry, Electrochemistry, Physical Chemistry, Organic Synthesis, Adsorption and Kinetic studies and Computational Chemistry.

Moreover, the Chemistry Association plays a pivotal role in enhancing our students academic and co-curricular talents. By organizing programs like workshops, seminars, and conferences, the association provides students with opportunities to engage with experts in the field, participate in hands-on experiments, and showcase their research findings.
